Handmade Sanford Pin
Description from the donor, Stephen Hastings: "My granddaughter, Bella Warner, is a sophomore at Sanford School. I enjoy working in different mediums. I work with wood creating musical instruments, stained glass and creating silver jewelry. The design of the piece is a stylized version of the Sanford logo. It is made of sterling silver and created for this fundraiser. Each piece of jewelry is made by hand. This particular piece was made using the lost wax process and cast in a fine plaster mold. The rough casting is removed from the mold and the finishing takes place. Sawing, grinding, shaping, and finally polishing, to bring the piece to its final state. I have donated this pin to the auction and hope that all who see it will enjoy it as well as bringing pleasure to the high bidder."
